The modernization of the El Segundo High School campus consists of renovation, seismic repair and new construction of seven buildings in three phases. The design included seismic improvements, complete mechanical, electrical and telecommunications upgrades, restoration of the main building’s historic shell, and building code compliance improvements. The project improved the library, classrooms and administrative spaces, added computer spaces, and modernized the 912-seat auditorium and two gymnasiums. A new science and music building forms a central quadrangle with the administration building and creates a new campus social space. The renovated media building contains the library, classrooms, resource room, and the city’s Community Cable studio.
