TEXAS TECH LUBBOCK SCIENCE BUILDING

Built for interdisciplinary chemistry and biology research, the Experimental Sciences Building fulfills a need for flexible research laboratory and support space characterized by an open “Institute” environment. The program includes research laboratories, lab support, core facilities, teaching classrooms for graduate-level studies, 52-seat seminar room with advanced audiovisual capability, seminar, faculty offices, and shell space for future build-out. It was programmed with a virtual reality-teaching auditorium. The building is located within the campus’ historic core and meets campus master plan design guidelines. The building fits comfortably in its context, yet speaks to modern research needs. Engaging interior and exterior social spaces promote interaction.
