TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER EL PASO

The building program reflects a new curriculum that emphasizes small-group, problem-based learning and integrates clinical training in the first two years. Core teaching spaces include small-group learning rooms, case method classrooms, and two 100-seat lecture halls. A computer-based testing laboratory accommodates up to 50 students for testing, instruction, and drop-in use. Clinical training space includes an outpatient exam room suite and standardized patient changing and training space. Mock inpatient spaces with adjacent control rooms for use with sophisticated simulators are collocated with part-task training rooms. All clinical skills training environments contain audio and video capability with video-control rooms able to send signals to both briefing and debriefing environments. Other learning resources include both traditional and virtual anatomy learning environments, basic sciences student laboratories and a virtual library. CO Architects: Executive & Design Architect; Adling Associates: Associate Architect
