The LEED Platinum-certified Student Services Building complex is comprised of a one-story pavilion building and a three-story building with general assembly rooms, meeting spaces, offices, and open-floor-plan student services suites. The one-story pavilion building houses two, 120-seat general assembly spaces. Situated on a tight, triangular site, the two buildings form both an interior open plaza space for students to gather between classes, and a smaller open space that addresses the buildings’ location as the terminus of Scholars Lane, the main pedestrian spine of campus. Student Services is UC Merced’s 13thLEED-certified building. UC Merced continues to be the only campus in the nation to earn LEED certification for design for all of its facilities.
