CO recently wrapped up another successful summer Architectural Discovery Program. This four-week program exposes young minds to the world of architecture and encourage students to consider architecture as a potential career path. This year’s program included in-person site visits and virtual experiences to guide each of the five high school students in their discovery of architecture.
The Health Futures Center creates a new campus and building for Arizona State University, supporting flagship programs with Mayo Clinic to help discover health innovations and navigate new challenges. The new 142,000-sf building encourages transdisciplinary partnerships with a flexible multifunctional program of research laboratories, simulation suites, workspaces and instructional rooms, a conference center and meeting space.
In response to the events that took place mid-2020, CO felt the need to broaden diversity and inclusion initiatives to include justice and equity, creating a CO JEDI Task Force. It can no longer be ignored that racism exists, and CO’s mission is to dismantle systemic racism by taking decisive action and empowering marginalized voices.
SoCal NOMA introduced their first Virtual Summer Camp – a three day virtual program with classroom, assignments, exhibits, workshops and presentations. CO Architects participated mentoring minority children in architecture through this three-day virtual classroom.
