The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is the headquarters for UCSD’s School of Pharmacy. The school’s research and academic programs emphasize the post-genomic era of drug development, including research into specialized medications tailored to individual needs. The building is designed to promote interaction among researchers and employs sustainable strategies, including sunshades and green roof technology. A 14,000-sf Learning Center is located below grade under the new School of Medicine Academic Mall and contains a 250-seat, stepped-floor lecture hall and three 50-seat classrooms. A courtyard is available for receptions and social gatherings, and a public reception space and central hall serve as a connecting link to future buildings on the academic mall.
