CO Architects 2018 Promotions
We are pleased to announce our new design principal, associate principals, senior associates and associates for 2018:
Design Principal
Arnold Swanborn, AIA, LEED AP, excels in designing buildings that sustain civic virtues of community, public life and human interaction while promoting learning and discovery. With 25 years of architectural experience, he has designed professional schools of medicine and health sciences, academic facilities, teaching and research laboratories, and commercial and healthcare facilities across the country.
Associate Principal
Parini Mehta, AIA, LEED AP, is known for her strong work ethic, thoroughness, and thoughtfulness in crafting creative options and solutions for clients. She has over 10 years of experience in healthcare architecture and medical planning for leading healthcare organizations, and currently serves as co-chair of the AIA|LA Healthcare committee.
Phillip White, AIA, joined CO in 2016 with over 20 years of experience as a project manager and designer for university academic and research facilities, and large-scale healthcare projects. He has led projects for some of the nation’s most respected universities and has deep expertise in complex facade design.
Senior Associates
Tanner Clapham, AIA, has worked as a design manager and project architect on several of CO’s academic medical and health sciences buildings throughout the US, and has presented on this typology at the Association of American Medical Colleges and EDSpaces conferences. His work has been published in the Cornell Journal of Architecture and Wired Magazine.
Jorge Colón, AIA, LEED AP, CO’s director of interior architecture and design, guides design processes that deliver highly responsive and fully integrated interior environments for academic, research, commercial and institutional clients. As a designer, Jorge has received multiple awards and has been recognized by the AIA and other institutions for his innovative projects throughout the country.
Esther Chao, AIA, LEED GA, an architect and laboratory planner, thrives on visual communication and collaboration. She has worked on academic medical and science & technology projects since joining CO in 2015.
Rachel J. Bascombe AIA, LEED AP BD+C, joined CO in 2015 and has worked on projects including healthcare, higher education and government. She brings a passion for sustainability and public interest design to her work.
Tighe Lanning, LEED GA, is dedicated to practicing sustainability and drives the firm’s efforts to achieve measurable outcomes and transformation of the built environment through comprehensible tools and strategies.
Fallon Lebedowicz brings technical skills in design and project delivery innovation to her role as project coordinator at CO, where she focuses on healthcare design. She joined the firm
Andrés Lin-Shiu, AIA, LEED AP BD+C , a member of CO’s science & technology team, specializes in designing laboratory spaces for a range of academic and research projects. He joined the firm in 2016.
Parmis Malek joined CO in 2014 and has worked as a designer on healthcare projects. She is committed to creating innovative spaces through culturally connected and user experience-focused design solutions.
Sussan Movassagh, Associate AIA, applies design sensibilities drawn from over 10 years of experience in both architecture and interior design to unify projects’ interior and exterior. She joined CO in 2016.
Stephen O’Brien, AIA, brings a wealth of experience from a wide range of commercial and civic projects in the U.S., China, and Singapore to his role as a senior technical architect at CO. He joined the firm in 2016.
Justin Owens, a designer at CO since 2014, focuses on computational design, encouraging collaboration with project team members by implementing diverse workflows that enhance the design communication process.
Minya Radenkovich, RA, LEED GA, has been with CO since 2016 and brings nearly 20 years of experience in design and management of education, retail, residential, gallery and ecclesiastical projects to her work at CO.
Samuel Ridge, RA joined CO in 2015 and has served as a designer on projects for California State University – Sacramento and the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Liz Wheeler is CO’s marketing manager and joined the firm in 2016. Liz manages CO’s new business proposals and leads implementation of the firm’s marketing, communications and social media initiatives.
