CO at Design x Diversity Day 2026

Last week CO returned to the annual Design x Diversity Block Party! The annual event, presented by Architecture for Communities Los Angeles, connects students to AEC firms and offers mentoring sessions, keynote speakers and engaging hands-on activities. This year's event honored notable Los Angeles architect Gin D. Wong, who is know for many iconic projects, including the LAX Theme Building and 76 Gas Station in Beverly Hills, CA.

Held at Santa Monica College – Center for Media & Design, CO had the chance to connect with the next generation of design professionals while celebrating the architectural history of Los Angeles. At our booth, we invited students of all ages to step into the role of an architect by exploring spatial relationships and placing colorful program blocks onto empty floor plans. Using blank floor plans of different CO's projects as a starting point, students created their own design solutions. It was exciting to see the creativity and variety in how they reimagined each space.
