In The Works: UCLA’s Rosenfeld Hall Meets Major Construction Milestones

Currently in construction, the 24,300-SF Eugene and Maxine Rosenfeld Hall at UCLA has reached several important milestones over the past year including the steel framing of the addition and topping off. The two-story Rosenfeld Hall will house surgical training, simulation and standardized patient programs.
Construction Milestones
2021
January | Start of construction.
October | Steel is erected at the Level 2 addition.
November | The high roof steel is erected and installed.
December | The topping slab is poured at the Level 2 addition.
2022
March | The high roof decking is installed.
Once complete in November 2022, Rosenfeld Hall will be one of the few buildings in the US that brings together mock clinical experiences, surgical and procedural simulation and hospital team training. The scope includes a full renovation of Level 1, upgrades to the existing below-grade simulation center and an addition on Level 2 for the Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology (CASIT) education lab and their research & design lab.
The main entry leads into the renovated lobby and gallery space.
The gallery space extends from the first floor up to the second.
A defining feature of the program, the CASIT lab will allow for robotic surgery, surgical simulation and 24 lab stations for virtual surgical training.
