University of Pennsylvania Unveils Vision for Transformative Physical Sciences Complex
We're excited to share a first look at the in-progress Physical Sciences Building for the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). A transformative addition to the science and engineering precinct, the building will unite cutting-edge research and dynamic learning environments, and serve as a center for discovery, collaboration and innovation in mathematics and the physical sciences.
The new Physical Sciences Building includes 265,000 square feet of new construction along with the renovation and modernization of 85,000 square feet of existing space. The resulting complex will serve as a vibrant nexus for Penn’s Departments of Physics and Astronomy, Mathematics and Earth and Environmental Science. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2028, with completion projected for 2031. In addition to CO Architects (Executive and Design Architect), the project team includes EwingCole (Local Architect).
