The CO Architects + Hensel Phelps Design-Build team is working with UCI Health to develop a new healthcare complex in Irvine close to the university campus. The UCI Health - Irvine medical center will offer transformative patient care and staff experiences on a sophisticated new campus adjacent to the San Joaquin Marsh.
The new campus includes a 144-bed, 350,000-square-foot hospital, comprising an emergency department, inpatient bed services, operating rooms, pre/post observation beds, inpatient imaging and support services. A 220,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center will offer outpatient surgery and procedure rooms, diagnostic and imaging services, oncology treatment and infusion facilities, clinical exam rooms, a pharmacy, and support services. “We are creating this new commitment to wellness and superb healthcare for all persons in our community, which will also improve how care is delivered far beyond our borders. Soon we will open up this new medical complex in phases, and each step will be another sign of the longstanding UCI Health mission to improve the well-being of individuals and communities through this virtuous cycle — Discover, Teach, Heal — a process that promises continuous improvement in care and a healthier tomorrow for everyone.”
